What is the difference between an ounce and a gram of flower?

Here is a quick conversion guide from ounces to grams for cannabis flower:

  • 1/8 ounce = 3.5 grams
  • 1/4 ounce = 7 grams
  • 1/2 ounce = 14 grams
  • 1 ounce = 28.35 grams

What are the differences between THC and CBD?

A THC-dominant strain will give the user that intoxicating “high” feeling. The psychoactive effect is balanced and damped by the level of CBD in the strain. THC dominant strains can produce feelings of euphoria, as well as can alter consciousness and perspective.

CBD-dominant (cannabidiol)

A CBD-dominant strain will give the user more of a grounded “body” experience. CBD is non-psychoactive, making it more desirable to those with THC sensitivities. CBD dominant strains have little to no psychoactive effects.

THC/CBD combination

A strain that has a balance of THC and CBD will synchronize the overall effects of each cannabinoid. CBD cushions the CB1 adaptor in the brain, softening the psychoactive effects of THC.

What are all the different forms of cannabis available for consumption?

Recreational cannabis is currently available in multiple forms, common consumption forms include inhalation, ingestion and sublinguals (spray).

Inhaled Forms

  • Smoking (joints, pipes or bongs)
  • Vaporizing (inhaling dried cannabis through a vaping device)

Ingested Forms

  • Capsules (orally administered oil, often referred to as canna caps)
  • Distillate (activated cannabis oil that can be used in food or ingested orally)
  • Edibles (homemade) sweet or savory foods infused with cannabis flower or concentrates

Sublinguals

Sprays that absorb through salivary glands in the mouth and enter the bloodstream rapidly

How much cannabis can I purchase at one time?

You’ll be allowed to possess up to 30 grams of dried legal cannabis or equivalent in public.

Can I make cannabis purchases through the Android App?

Unfortunately, due to Google’s regulations, cannabis sales are not permitted through the app: Google Play doesn’t “allow apps that facilitate the sale of marijuana or marijuana products, regardless of legality.”

You can use the app to find your closest location, browse products, sign up for member deals and view account details including past order details. Once you find a product you wish to purchase, click on “Order” and you will be redirected to the website to complete your order.

If Google’s regulations change and allow cannabis sales through an app, we are ready and will offer the full shopping experience on approval.

What are terpenes?

Follow your nose. It’s quite wise advice when it comes to selecting cannabis. Research shows that terpenes, the aromatic compounds in cannabis (think essential oils), play a large role in the energizing or relaxing effects.

Some of the more common terpenes – there are over 400!

  • Alpha-Pinene
  • Myrcene
  • Limonene
  • Beta-Caryophyllene
  • Linalool
  • Humulene
  • Ocimene
  • Terpinolene

How much cannabis can I grow at home?

Under federal law, you’ll be allowed to cultivate up to 4 plants in your own residence, equaling 4 plants total per household. Some provinces may restrict whether or how you may grow at home. If you rent or live in a condo, you may also be subject to restrictions imposed by your landlord or condo by-laws.

What are cannabinoids?

Molecular yet mighty, cannabinoids are chemical compounds that stimulate the CB1 receptor in the brain, resulting in a spectrum of benefits and effects. Here, we’ll focus on the most common: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol).

THC-dominant

Choosing a strain that’s THC-dominant will give you the intoxicating “high” that’s commonly paraded in pop culture. The psychoactive effect is balanced and damped by the level of CBD in the strain.

  • Alters consciousness and perspectives
  • Produces feelings of euphoria

CBD-dominant

Choosing a strain that’s CBD-dominant will give you a grounded “body” experience. This cannabinoid is non-psychoactive, making it desirable to those with THC sensitivities.

  • Little to no psychoactive effects

THC/CBD balanced

Choosing a strain with a balance of THC and CBD will harmonize the overall effects of each cannabinoid. CBD cushions the CB1 adaptor in the brain, softening the psychoactive effects of THC.
